I'm getting this info with fou4s -e: ============== Update Information for kernel-51206 (2003-12-19) =============== Kernel optimized for AMD Athlon processors Paul Starzetz of iSEC reported a vulnerability in the mremap system call, which allows local attackers to crash the machine, and even to obtain super user privileges under some circumstances. This update fixes the vulnerability. ========================================================================== ===== k_athlon 2.4.21-168 (2.4.19-66 ) [dl] security 21881kb k_deflt 2.4.21-168 (2.4.19-340 ) [dl] security 21659kb The reason is that this image was carried over from Athlon machines and then a generic kernel applied (this is a Celeron machine). Later I applied the "correct" Suse kernel k_deflt. There was no way to "uninstall" the Athlon kernel. Can I get rid of the package information for it? I read a bit thru man rpm but couldn't find anything about that. I'm also wondering, if I shouldn't get the "this package won't be installed, use interactive mode" message or is this only coming with "-i" ?
