This is the output of SuSE 9.1, running on a smp machine.
mbox /home/happyman# uname -a

mbox /home/happyman# cat /etc/SuSE-release 
SuSE Linux 9.1 (i586)

mbox /home/happyman# fou4s -i --inter

The running kernel (2.6.4-54.5-smp) is different from installed kernel
(2.6.5-7.108). You must reboot your machine to make the kernel update effective. 

mbox /home/happyman# rpm -qa |grep  kernel
kernel-smp-2.6.5-7.108

The running kernel (2.4.21-215-smp) is different from installed kernel
(2.4.21-243). You must reboot your machine to make the kernel update effective.  
db2 /root# uname -a
Linux db2 2.4.21-215-smp #1 SMP Tue Apr 27 00:50:20 UTC 2004 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
db2 /root# cat /etc/SuSE-release 
SuSE Linux 9.0 (i586)
VERSION = 9.0

I got this error everytime. Can you fix it?

Please try the option "--usedir" of fou4s. It will then try to download 
the directory file that contains all patch names, instead of listing the 
directory content and retrieving all files there.
There is no appropriate config file option yet, so you have to modify the 
cronjob files. I'll add a config file option for this in the next release 
...
