Sorry, so there's a conflict between Thunar and Shotwell, is there?

In Thunar, haven't you set it to "Import photos when a camera is
connected"?

Or, like in Enlightenment, which I use, is there a way to disable
shotwell in the system's startup applications settings?

Of course, you have thunar-volman installed, right?
