Quick confirmation: Via Appimage I am getting Signal 8.17, and it seems to 
work. I did not know that Signal also has a limitation of 5 connected 
desktops... so I had to delete the other ones... :-)

Nevertheless, I am offering help for building rpms (though not an expert here)
