TDE is X11 only, and won't support Wayland. It is KDE3+. I've worked 
with the project since Tim forked KDE3 and wrote QtInterface.

Xfce support for Wayland is incomplete.

Good luck to you. I always want to see choices in Linux and that 
includes choices between X11 and Wayland. Where people overstep their 
bounds is pushing one over the other or working to undermine support for 
one over the other. Especially for distros, freedesktop and the big 2 
DEs. That's nothing short of anti-competitive collusion.

Wayland shows promise in some areas, but it hobbled by design choices 
made that prevent it from ever functioning as X11 does.

I'll use any desktop, but prefer KDE3 or fluxbox. They will never run on 
wayland. Since I prefer saving a restoring desktop sessions and have the 
windows sized and placed the way they did when I shut down, wayland 
simply doesn't fit the bill.
