Sure, I know what you're talking about, like needing a diskette with a bit of 
DOS + a .bin file and no other way. 
But, in this world past experiences don't matter that much. These days most 
BIOSes even have some kind of healthchecking, sometimes incl a rollback 
functionality on failure.
