No idea. :( You could try the E key at your boot menu to remove it just for one
boot to see if you can observe any difference.

No idea. Try 'smartctl -t long <device>' followed by 'smartctl -x <device> | less'
on your boot device to see whether it remains healthy. If results are ambiguous or
seem othewise flawed, check with the device vendor for its own test utility.

Andrei gave you a command for diagnostic purposes. You may try simply recreating
default target thus:

	systemctl set-default graphical.target
