I get so nervous when you ask me questions... Anyway, what is being deprecated in Plasma 6.8 is the Plasma X11 session, not the X11 mode of the SDDM greeter. As I wrote before, the official KDE announcement explicitly states; Plasma Login Manager will continue to be able to log you into X11 sessions of other desktop environments. In other words, the greeter runs on top of the Wayland compositor (kwin) and does not need to start X11 server. In fact, the Japanese Fedora community has confirmed that even after removing the plasma-workspace-x11package, which provides the Plasma (X11) session type, users can still log in to Xfce via sddm. The version of Plasma discussed here is 6.7, though.
