Doc, See the HowTo at http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/DOS-Win-to-Linux-HOWTO.html for the formatting info. However, since there is not (that I know of ) an equivalent to the /s my opinion is to just reinstall SuSE 8.0 from the CDs and let it repartition/format the disk for you. Even in Windows you have to reinstall most of the OS from the CD since /s only makes the disk bootable. Only in the "good ole days" of DOS did /s do something really useful! Hope this helps. 73, Robert WB4DHC/DL4GRC Friedrichshafen Germany On Fri, 13 Sep 2002 20:12:02 -0400 doc <[email protected]> wrote: > I cannot recall how to do the DOS equivalent of > formatting > a hard disk drive. > > I have sold an older PC with SuSE 8.0 and need > to do the > equivalent of a "format /s c:" to get my stuff > off it and to provide > him with a clean start. > > Thanks! doc > > > -- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: > [email protected] > For additional commands, e-mail: > [email protected] > >
