PSK31

Greetings!

Has anyone managed to get GPSK31 or KPSK working with SuSE8.2?

I have been trying for ages to get them working. All I get are two error 
messages:

Unable to open audio device /dev/audio. 
Inexact sampling rate: request for 8000 resulted in 48000

/dev/audio has the correct permissions, as far as I can tell (owner root, 
group audio). I have tried altering it to me as the owner.

I have tried altering the sample rate in K Control Centre --> Sound system, 
but it has no effect. I have also tried disabling aRTs.

Starting the programs in Libranet gives the same error messages, but I can run 
PSK31 without problems in Windows98.

Any advice will be gratefully received.
