Unfortunately not. In my opinion the current state of powermanagement at 
least with opensuse is very unstable and it seems also, that there is 
not much motivation to work on it. 

In my case with the last releases of suspend the behaviour was changing 
with every release. There is a bug: 
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=306983 
it was closed inbetween and reopened by me again, but obviously noone 
cares about.
