This looks like https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=333735 - a 
dbus problem.

But you also cannot suspend from there, right? Otherwise it would be a
different bug...

In the kpowersave configuration, you can set up button events. But
this again only works if dbus is functional.
