Problem to view chinese character in SuSE 9.3

Hi all,

In SuSE 9.2, I could view the text file which contains
big5 characters using vi on mlterm

However, after I have installed SuSE 9.3 from scrach,
I find that I could not view the characters correctly
with the same text file in vi anymore. However, when I
"cat" the file, the characters could still shown
correctly.

Do you know what kind of problem is it?
