Hello M17N teammates,

The deadline for Beta 1 is coming on this Friday as announcement by coolo in the
Factory ML.

IBus is now integrated to GNOME on Factory after all. (not on M4)

A major problem with the current ibus package is that ibus has no preload
engines (no layout) at the first login.

I asked upstream and a ibus developer, tfujiwara, tell me patches for this
feature implemented for Fedora (and also used for Debian/Ubuntu), but it has not
been upstreamed yet.

Here is a ibus package with those patches:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:ftake:ibus-fedora/ibus

I'm using this package for about a month, it is working fine.

Since it seems that merging this patch will not be finished soon,
I will submit that package to Factory tomorrow if you have no objection.
# Of course, I will add necessary information about patches.

Other problems with ibus:
- cannot use different engines for each application
 * this might be implemented in git snapshot but I've never checked it yet.
- ibus-gtk3 panel does not show the current local mode of each engines
even though, for direct input, using alphabet local mode of each engine
is now recommended instead of using xkb engines.

Currently switching local modes of each engines and switching between
Pinyin/Mozc/Anthy and xkb-engines (* Keyboard) are mixed and complicated.
