Glücksache Sound

Tag allerseits,

derzeit ist Sound auf meinem Opensuse 11.0 Desktop eher Glücksache - manchmal 
funktioniert das Soundsystem nach dem booten, manchmal nicht. Leider weiss 
ich im Moment nicht so richtig, wo ich ansetzen soll.

Kann mir da evtl. jemand einen Hinweis geben?

Die Audiohardware wird derzeit automatisch festgestellt. Vielleicht kann mir 
zunächst mal jemand sagen, ob die Auswahl von OSS, ALSA, etc. eher eine 
Glaubensfrage ist, oder wonach man da am besten entscheidet.
