I've found that both kdenlive 0.7.7.1 and 0.7.8 can exhibit correct
behaviour, or go cause havoc, depending on exact versions of packages
installed, or other obscure circumstances.

I haven't encountered major issues with saving, though.
The typical bug I see is that a clip would not snap into the timeline, but
just float there, making it impossible to apply any effects.
