I just tried "ripit" and it failed running. May be somebody can take a 
look, I can't manage to follow yet an other bugzilla entry for now :-(

did this new version have soime feature really important? grip from 
OBS 1 clic install seems to run (that said I didn't try to really use it)

there is also jripper probably a java app) and ripperX (available in 
source form) - all this from sourceforge
