SB PCI 128 definitely works fine for recording. If you have configured
this as a second device, you have to tell the application that it should
use this device. Since both krec and audacity are OSS applications, I
recommend QARecord for reliable recordings. QARecord uses the ALSA driver
and is multithreaded to avoid buffer overrun problems. QARecord is part of
the kalsatools package found in SL 8.2. The latest tarball is found on
http://www.suse.de/~mana/kalsatools.html
Don't forget to verify your mixer settings. Capture has to be activated
and properly levelled.
