I'm just guesing now, but try to run SuSEconfig after the changes, if 
that doesn't work you just have to do a lot of googleling.

You could also try to ask in alt.os.linux.suse but do some searching 
first, in most linux newsgroups you are considderd to be lazy if you ask 
an question without showing that you realy have tried to find a solution 
youreself.
