Ardour

Hi everybody!

I have a small problem. I've converted to Linux/Unix completely except for one
thing, multitrack sound recordning. Now I found Ardour and it seems as it
could replace the software I'm using in MS and would thus allow me to
completely convert from Windows.

Firstly I found out that Ardour is included in 8.1 but not in 8.2. (I'm
running 8.2). Then I found Ardour for 8.2 at
http://apt.bygden.nu/SuSE/8.2-i386/RPMS.suse-people/ which I installed.
Everything went fine but when I try to run Ardour (after running jackd), it
starts up but crashes after about 2 seconds giving the error message:

ardour: relocation error: ardour: undefined symbol: jack_set_xrun_callback

I googled for the error message but couldn't find almost any info about it.

So now to my questions:

1. Does anyone have experience in running Ardour on 8.2?
2. Are there any other software that equals Ardour?
