VIA 82xx Sound chipset and SuSE 9.0

Hi to all.



I have a QDI motherboard with VIA chipset.
 I have a terrible problem with SuSE 9.0 Pro. Although it recognizes my
 sound chipset as VIA 82xx AC97 codec, it doesnt play any sound !
 Not in KDE, not in the CLI, not even with mpg123...
 I also get some strange kernel messages about ALSA, in the logs.
 The funny stuff is that i had to change my kernel to the one shipped with
 SuSE 8.2 and it happily plays sound.



Does anyone has the same problem ?
