sounds, flicks and business graphics

Hello,

What graphics display capability should a new machine have to cope with
middle of the road and higher end business applications -- not SGI kind of
stuff or engineering or modeling? DVD thrills  or games need not be
included.

Can you recommend a card for PCI, PCI-E, or SLI system -- Maybe clue me in
on how to approach selection?
