Thanks for the help.. I am using KDE desktop and also I have installed GNOME (but still haven't logged in yet)... The sound card is ---> Intel 82801AA AC'97 and it's on mother board itself, not sure through what mode?? Please let me know the difference between PCI and ISA... As far as cable is concerned I think I removed it sometimes back, but does it make a difference becuase in windows XP it works fine... Please reply. Thanks again for your support.
