On the command line, try:

cd ./mpgfolder
cat *.mpg >> combined.mpg

Just make sure you have the filenames numbered in seqence so the files 
get concatenated in the right order. For example,

file01.mpg
file02.mpg
...
file10.mpg
file11.mpg,

Not:

file1.mpg
...
file10.mpg
...

This works for me.
