SLES-8/UL1.0 Certified for 9iR2 RAC

Dear SuSE customers,

As of today SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 and United Linux 1.0 (which 
is the core of SLES-8) is/are officially certified with Oracle 9iR2 Real 
Application Cluster. The non-RAC database is about to be certified in 
the next few days.


Technical details:
Our hardware partner was HP. The certification was done at HP in 
Cupertino (California, SF Bay Area) on a 4-node 4GB RAM 4-CPU (Xeon) 
DL580 cluster with a Compaq FC attached external storage array as shared 
storage. We used the Logical Volume Manager (LVM) and raw I/O on logical 
volumes for the shared database space.
