Re: SuSe and Oracle11- why SLES9 is no supported while RHEL4 (and OL4) are supported?

It's exactly my impression. Novell try to enforce everyone abandon SLES9. DELL support abandoned,. Oracle 10 abandoned... what's next - customers?

problem is that when I estimnate systems as an oracle platforms, my preferences are for example:

1 - SLES9 SP3
2 - OracleLinux 4
3 - Oracle LInux 5 or RHEL5
4 - SLES10 SP1

so guess what we select if we wil be forced to abandon SLES9?

For now, etst results with SLES10 (SP1) was negative - few critical errors found and too many problems of al kinds. OpenSuSe10.2 is great as a desktop, but SLES10 SP1 as a server for Oracle... never, thanks!

  actually Novell had control on this - we informed Novell about 11g plan, when it was time - 
  Novell was ok supporting only SLES10 - the decision has been made and at this point we cannot change the plan.

Strange, but Novell/SUSE has no control here. We love to see Oracle 11g supporting SLES9.

There is not any chance to have Oracle 9 support on SLES10 (because of 
thread library), so SLES10 is not an option until many users runs Oracle 9.
