Greetings, Please be kind..I'm a systems programmer, not an Oracle person! I would like to recover a box running Web Application Server/linux at a disaster recovery test. It will be a replica of one running production at home, so the DR replica needs a different ipaddress and DNS hostname. I know how to change the linux operating system at DR to use a new address. What I need to know is what must be changed in WebAS to allow it to function at its DR address. Is it possible to put the DR ipaddress in /etc/hosts and somehow instruct Oracle to use /etc/hosts instead of LDAP to look up what it knows as its hostname/ipaddress? Or must I completely change he hostname/ipaddress with the Oracle chngip procedure? (This is a mid-tier instance.) thanks, Kate Riggsby Systems Programmer University of Tennessee -- To unsubscribe, email: [email protected] For additional commands, email: [email protected] Please see http://www.suse.com/oracle/ before posting
