Async bug exists (I am not sure about kernel 287), but configuring 'ASYNC +
DIERCT IO' and '1 writer' eliminated it on our case (in reality, this is
our default configuration, so I never saw this bug until I did a few
experiments with configuration).

So it does not looks as a show stopepr (this bug).
(But I don't understand, why this bug is not counted as _high priority
critical bug_ and is not fixed in online updates, long ago? On the other
hand, this bug is pretty easy to reproduce and it affects DEFAULT ORACLE
installation, so QA should find it long ago).
