Dave,
There is a document on Oracle Technet at

http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/asm/pdf/device-mapper
-udev-crs-asm%20rh4.pdf

that shows how to use udev for this purpose.

How do I configure SUSE 10 to create certain device
files under /dev/mapper with specific ownership and
permissions ? The multipath daemon creates the
correct device files, but with the default root:root
ownership and 600 permissions. The documentation of
/etc/udev/rules.d is very vague.

Thanks much
