I'm not aware of any special documentation, but we do this on our test
servers. We just use completely different Oracle homes and oracle user
accounts at the OS level.

i.e.
oratest has an ORACLE_HOME of /opt/oracle/oratest
oradev has an ORACLE_HOME of /opt/oracle/oradev

The only special thing that we do is to rename the oraInst.loc file each
time we apply patches to a particular installation.

Do we rename the oraInst.loc.test to oraInst.loc, apply the patches and
rename it back to oraInst.loc.test.

HTH,
-Alain.

Subject: [suse-oracle] Multiple Oracle10g binary installations on same
server

I am trying to install two Oracle10g binary installations on the same
SuSE9 Linux server for VCS cluster purpose. Is they any
documentation/URL which talks about the process of installing multiple
sets of Oracle binaries (same version, or, different version). I think
the procedure is not pretty straight forward, looks like we need to
follow some guide lines.
