I don't have problems with
SLES9 SP3 kernel 287 (some known bug exist but it is rare to affect
anything)
SLES9 SP4 kernel >= 312 - VERY STABLE SYSTEM
SLES10 SP2 x86_64 kernel 2.6.16.60-0.37_f594963d-smp #1 SMP Mon Mar 23
13:39:48 UTC 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux - VERY STABLE SYSTEM

(But it worked on few previous klernels as well).

Don't use:

SLES9 SP4 kernels <= 312
SLES10 SP2 original kernel
(Technically, I strongly advice against using any SLES* SP* before first
upgrade because of the poor beta testing in Novell.
Most such kernels was broken, examples
sles9 release
sles10 release
sles10 sp2
sles9 sp4

in all cases, 1 - 3 updates after the release fixed the problem. So I treat
all releases as _open beta_ for a few years.)

Another problem include sles10 sp2 iscsi interaction with th emultipath and
lvm which require a small patch (but it works really GREAT after this).
