Hi Arturo, None disables ASYNC IO and DIRECT IO so that Oracle uses normal synchronous writes, without any direct io options. To use direct io set filesystemio_options=DIRECTIO Alessandro Guimaraes -----Mensagem original----- De: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Em nome de Arturo Gutierrez Enviada em: sexta-feira, 30 de abril de 2010 06:34 Para: Alexei_Roudnev Cc: [email protected]; Arun Singh Assunto: Re: [suse-oracle] ORA-27061: waiting for async I/Os failed withRMAN Backup Hello, I'll change the parameter: filesystemio_options to none to avoid the problem. Do you know if direct I/O will be done to bypass the Linux Buffer Cache if this parameters is set to none? Thanks Arturo Alexei_Roudnev escribió: > Yes: > - this parameter affect RMAN > - there is not any way to configure RMAN mode different > - SLES10 SP2 release had a big preventing rman from working in this > mode (later udpates fixed it). > > > ----- Original Message ----- From: "Arun Singh" <[email protected]> > To: "Arturo Gutierrez" <[email protected]> > Cc: <[email protected]> > Sent: Thursday, April 29, 2010 2:14 PM > Subject: Re: [suse-oracle] ORA-27061: waiting for async I/Os failed > withRMAN Backup > > > Hello Arturo, > >> We had modify the parameter: >> filesystemio_options=SETALL more than 1 month ago, and the database work >> fine. >> Is possible that this parameter affect to this Rman error? > > Yes, it's coming from AIO portion of kernel code and I am sure kernel > update will fix this.
