Hello, I'm installing Oracle Grid infraestructure (11g R2) in a SLE11 SP0 enviorement. And using ASM and ASMLIB how storage option. In the screen to create the diskgroup to store OCR and Voting disks is empty and if I try use the change discovery path to ORCL:* doesn't work. I've configured the asmlib driver: castorrac:~ # rpm -qa | grep oracleasm oracleasmlib-2.0.4-1.SLE11 oracleasm-2.0.5-7.6 oracleasm-kmp-default-2.0.5_2.6.27.19_5-7.6 oracleasm-support-2.1.3-1.SLE11 castorrac:~ # cat /etc/*release SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64) VERSION = 11 PATCHLEVEL = 0 LSB_VERSION="core-2.0-noarch:core-3.2-noarch:core-4.0-noarch:core-2.0-x86_64:core-3.2-x86_64:core-4.0-x86_64" castorrac:~ # uname -a Linux castorrac 2.6.27.45-0.1-default #1 SMP 2010-02-22 16:49:47 +0100 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux And executing some testing commands seems fine. castorrac:~ # df -ha Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/cciss/c0d0p3 118G 51G 62G 46% / proc 0 0 0 - /proc sysfs 0 0 0 - /sys debugfs 0 0 0 - /sys/kernel/debug udev 7.9G 1.2M 7.9G 1% /dev devpts 0 0 0 - /dev/pts /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 1004M 47M 907M 5% /boot fusectl 0 0 0 - /sys/fs/fuse/connections *oracleasmfs 0 0 0 - /dev/oracleasm* /proc 0 0 0 - /var/lib/ntp/proc gvfs-fuse-daemon 0.0K 0.0K 0.0K - /home/grid/.gvfs castorrac:~ # /etc/init.d/oracleasm status Checking if ASM is loaded: yes Checking if /dev/oracleasm is mounted: yes castorrac:~ # /usr/sbin/oracleasm-discover Using ASMLib from /opt/oracle/extapi/64/asm/orcl/1/libasm.so [ASM Library - Generic Linux, version 2.0.4 (KABI_V2)] Discovered disk: ORCL:DATA01 [209728575 blocks (107381030400 bytes), maxio 512] Discovered disk: ORCL:DATA02 [209728575 blocks (107381030400 bytes), maxio 512] Discovered disk: ORCL:DATA03 [209728575 blocks (107381030400 bytes), maxio 512] Discovered disk: ORCL:OCRVD01 [2120580 blocks (1085736960 bytes), maxio 512] Discovered disk: ORCL:OCRVD02 [2120580 blocks (1085736960 bytes), maxio 512] Discovered disk: ORCL:OCRVD03 [2120580 blocks (1085736960 bytes), maxio 512] Discovered disk: ORCL:RECO01 [374071192 blocks (191524450304 bytes), maxio 512] Discovered disk: ORCL:RECO02 [374071192 blocks (191524450304 bytes), maxio 512] Discovered disk: ORCL:RECO03 [374071192 blocks (191524450304 bytes), maxio 512] castorrac:~ # ls -l /dev/oracleasm/disks/ total 0 brw-rw---- 1 grid asmdba 8, 2 Jun 21 12:30 DATA01 brw-rw---- 1 grid asmdba 8, 18 Jun 21 12:30 DATA02 brw-rw---- 1 grid asmdba 8, 34 Jun 21 12:30 DATA03 brw-rw---- 1 grid asmdba 8, 1 Jun 21 12:30 OCRVD01 brw-rw---- 1 grid asmdba 8, 17 Jun 21 12:30 OCRVD02 brw-rw---- 1 grid asmdba 8, 33 Jun 21 12:30 OCRVD03 brw-rw---- 1 grid asmdba 8, 3 Jun 21 12:30 RECO01 brw-rw---- 1 grid asmdba 8, 19 Jun 21 12:30 RECO02 brw-rw---- 1 grid asmdba 8, 35 Jun 21 12:30 RECO03 If I use the string /dev/oracleasm/disks/ as Disk discovery path, the screen is populated with the asm disks. Reading some metalink note(Not up to 11G R2) say that use of this string invalidate ASMLIB propertys. Any know if work ORCL:* disk string in this platform or I have some issue with the ASMLIB installation.
