Hi Yann, very interesting post. We have 10gR2 and cannot change it now. Do you know if CPU_COUNT parameter realy says to oracle how many CPUs to use? And that it would be possible to reduce CPU usage by specifying cpu_count=15 on 16CPU system? thx and regards Ivo Dne 14.6.2011 15:05, Yann Neuhaus napsal(a): > Hi Ivo, > > May be you can have a look on that : > > http://www.dbi-services.com/index.php/blog/entry/oracle-11g-instance-caging-limit-database-cpu-consumption > > Best Regards > > Yann > > ------- > > > 2011/6/14 Ivo Libal <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>> > > Hi, > i would like to ask you about the following issue. > We have systems having 4 CPUs (4core, intel xeon) and quite a lot of ram > (32G or more). it happens that if application (application server jboss > for java and our own application system having connection pool handling > as well for GUI) starts a lot of requests (maybe a lot of complicated > select statemets, or some plsqls) the system gets overloaded and does > not respond for some time.
