Hi Iresh,

personally I have trouble using java-based Programs under SLES11 and Exceed.
(the Oracle installer is only one example).

Often the java-applications crash with Exceed.

Xming is an opensource X-Display Manager for Windows
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xming/

it works for me.

I was running Oracle 11gr2 RAC installation , after updating the Java
binaries installer was successful.

Steps followed:

If u want to replace the jdk on sles =

Download jdk for linux_64bit from location
(http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk-6u26-download-4
00750.html)

chmod a+x jdk-6u26-linux-x64-rpm.bin
./jdk-6u26-linux-x64-rpm.bin
   =

move the new jdk installed to folder jdk then jar it.
cd /usr/java/
mv jdk1.6.0_26/ jdk
/usr/java/jdk/bin/jar  -cvf all.jar jdk


REPLACE THE JDK , take backup of the old jdk
cd /opt/oracle/grid/stage/Components/oracle.jdk/1.5.0.17.0/1/DataFiles
mv all.jar all_jar_bkp
cd /usr/java/
mv all.jar
/opt/oracle/grid/stage/Components/oracle.jdk/1.5.0.17.0/1/DataFiles
chown oracle:oinstall
/opt/oracle/grid/stage/Components/oracle.jdk/1.5.0.17.0/1/DataFiles/all.jar
chmod 755
/opt/oracle/grid/stage/Components/oracle.jdk/1.5.0.17.0/1/DataFiles/all.jar

It would be great help any tips on exporting DISPLAY for oracle installer on
sles.

Issue :
1> I export the display for oracle installer : I set the display variable to

 my machine and I am able to run xclock successfully , but oracle installer
never comes up.

I use Exceed on windows machine and able to export oracle installer
successfully from RHEL & SOLARIS platforms.

What Oracle version you are trying?

Appears to be Java related Issue. Please look into Oracle Installer log (or
post here). =
