[suse-oracle] Using SSD as EMC FAST Cache vs. Oracle flash-cache

We want to add SSD in our storage system for Oracle database 11gR2.. 
there are two alternatives to consider:

1. Give the SSDs to the storage to use them as EMC FAST Cache. That is, 
the storage will see what are the "hot blocks" and use the SSDs for 
them. The operating system and Oracle do not need any special 
configuration, all the magic is in the storage.

2. Give the SSDs as /dev/sdX to Oracle to use as Oracle flash-cache

This alternative means that we'd be forced to use Oracle Linux, because 
evil Oracle does not to share this feature with other distributions, AFAIK.

Could the second option be that much faster to justify using Oracle's 
wares?  We'll do some testing, but it would be very useful to have some 
more information in advance.
