packet writing under suse 10

hi

i have a dvd-burner and suse 10

i'm interested to burn cd-rw, dvd-rw, dvd+rw, dvd-ram

in fstab i have

/dev/dvdram          /media/dvdram        subfs      
fs=cdfss,rw,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,users,gid=users,umask=0002,iocharset=utf8 
0 0

with lsmod, i can see udf and pktcdvd

how to be able to use dvd-rw, dvd+rw, cd-rw and dvd-ram like a hd?

maybe there is a special thing to do for dvd-ram?

does only the root can use the dvd-rw, dvd+rw, cd-rw and dvd-ram like a hd or 
any user can do it?
