is packet writing works under 2.6.15?

Hi I'm new here!  :)
Recently I've got some time and decide to spend it setting up UDF tools. 
First I've tried package included in Debian Etch, but it didn't work for me.
Later I've downloaded udftools-1.0.0b3 and tried it with and without 
patch from here: http://web.telia.com/~u89404340/packet.html
But in both cases I'm getting same error:

#pktsetup /dev/pktcdvd0 /dev/hda
open packet device: No such device or address

BTW here is my pktcdvd0 device file:
#ls -la /dev/pktcdvd0
brw-r--r-- 1 root root 97, 0 2006-02-26 04:25 /dev/pktcdvd0


Does anyone know is there a way to fix this? I'm open to any suggestions.
