Yeah.. FAT16 setup is broken, but as I can see from the logs kernel,
initrd, yaboot and its config
are copied over to the partition. So metadata or FS itself is not compatible.

Weird, I don't have such problem

I think this is related to sed is missing in initrd

You can grab osc from openSUSE:Tools project (It builds against
factory). Or use SDK packages.
