Re: openSUSE 12.3 PowerPC for the AmigaOne X1000

Hi there,

I've tried to install openSUSE 12.3 on my AmigaOne X1000. Unfortunately 
the installation of a lot of 64-bit packages failed. Issue: scriptlet 
failed, signal 11.

The following steps I have done:

1. Downloaded the network ISO 32-bit: 
http://download.opensuse.org/ports/ppc/distribution/12.3/iso/openSUSE-12.3-NET-ppc-Build0001-Media.iso 

2. Burned it on a CD
3. Booted my X1000 into the CFE ('F' to enter firmware)
4. Loaded the init ramdisk (32-bit and later 64-bit): "CFE> ramdisk -z 
-addr=0x24000000 -fs=iso atapi0.1:suseboot/initrd32" and later "CFE> 
ramdisk -z -addr=0x24000000 -fs=iso atapi0.1:suseboot/initrd64"
5. Booted the kernel: CFE> boot -elf -noints -fatfs cf0:vmlinux-3.10.13-1
6. It appeared:

Main Menu

Note: YaST2 can't load the graphical installation.

29. Choosen: (x) New Installation and  [x] Use Automatic Configuration 
[Next]

30. Choosen my Clock and Time Zone and [Next]

31. It appeared the Desktop Selection

( ) GNOME Desktop
(*) KDE Desktop
( ) Other

32. Choosen KDE desktop and then [Next]

33. Choosen a partition

33.1 For example import my own partition table: [Import Partition Setup...]

33.2 Deactivated "Format System Volumes" and choosen [Import]

33.3 Choosen [Edit Partition Setup ...] and when I was finished then [Next]

34. Created a new user without automatic login and [Next]

35. Installation Settings appeared

36. Choosen "Booting" and then choosen "Boot Loader Installation"

37. Choosen "Do Not Install Any Boot Loader" and [Continue] and [OK]

38. Choosen [Install] and then [Install]

39. -- Performed Installation --

40. -- The installation of a lot of 64-bit packages failed. Issue: 
scriptlet failed, signal 11. --

Has someone an idea to solve this issue?

In the next time I'll try to install openSUSE 12.3 over QEMU on the usb 
stick and then I'll try to boot my X1000 from this usb stick.
