python distutils

hi all,
i just ran into a problem trying to install a python package (SQLObject 
0.7b1). and got the following traceback:

TypeError: _mutate_outputs() takes exactly 6 arguments (5 given)

it turns out the method _mutate_outputs in 
/usr/lib/python/distutils/command/install_lib.py has a different 
signature from the one on other systems. is it possible that SuSE 
patched this file?
