FTP-Proxy with user authentication for outbound connections

Hi,

I'm looking for a replacement for the FWTK FTP-Proxy and found the
Proxy-Suite.

The target is to authenticate users who want to do an FTP connection from
the LAN
to the Internet.
An optimal solution would be a LDAP-query, as the amount of users here is
quite big,
and IPs can change, while a userID is unique.

Can this accomplished using the FTP-Proxy or does it only support the
transparent mode
when going from LAN to Internet ?
