Wanting to use openSUSE for small web programming class, looking for feedback

A colleague and myself are looking to utilize openSUSE for a small, local web programming group for grade-school aged kids. Anyone have this experience? Any pointers with what to look for or how to best utilize openSUSE for this endeavor?
