italc problem on suse 11

Stock Suse 11 patched up to date

italc of edu repos

followed the instructions in the readme file.

generated the key

test it on same machine, as some of the website say, no joy...

error from italc is that it can't read the key file, thats as root, 
chmod +r etc...  I just can't read the file.

Removed the file and gen the key again, no joy.

????

Any ideas?
