Web applications in the server pattern

Hey all, is there something I'm doing wrong?
When I install Moodle from the repo, it places  the application folder in
/srv/www/moodle and not /srv/www/htdocs/moodle . This causes configuration
issues with the installer. it requires the moodledata folder in /srv/www
but the moodle folder in
/srv/www/htdocs/moodle.  I am having the same issues with openSIS.
Can anyone help?
