General frustration is clearing

I'll do a rebuild as suggested. Although I'm hesitant to change the wiki.

Following is information and thoughts, no reply is necessary.
   (After exploring Li-f-e I may find my thoughts were not needed.)

We are a small village library using open source when possible.
Some other Ohio libraries do also. The State Library is even testing 
Evergreen for state wide use.

Using Novell for years made openSUSE an obvious choice.
openSUSE (as a PAC - Public Access Catalog) and EDU fits in our library 
patron environment quite well, when locked down.

A semi-major library pushes Edubuntu, giving classes, CD's, PC's etc. to 
drum up use.
I tout openSUSE on the OPLIN list server as an option but haven't felt 
comfortable to push EDU.

openSUSE and  the single user EDU are polished, easily installed, easily 
used by Windows oriented people.
Or at least it seems easy to adjust/train them.

But the EDU server/thin client version seems to require more setup 
involvement than many libraries can provide.
For most libraries our size, or smaller, everything should be plug and 
play. Usually, no IT person is available.
I think, to reach this market, the server installation needs to be 
extremely simple for non-technical people.

Possibly a distribution to allow something like this:  (an 
over-simplification)
Requirement Description:
 1 PC ~ x ghz, 2 NIC's, x Memory plus y more per user, xgb HD, etc.
 1 to x PC's ~ x ghz, 1 NIC, x Memory, no HD, headphone, etc
 1 switch, misc cables, etc.
Instructions:
   Connect internet cable to NIC 1
   Install s/w on main pc
   Boot, log on, do updates
   Run program Z to create Users & password, select icons for desktop, 
modify the K Menu to limit items shown
        EX: we have 5 users, 35 desktop icons and only Edutainment, 
Games and Multimedia on the K Menu
        Program Z should do it all. Or have a few individual programs 
with very simple steps to follow.
   Connect other PC's to the switch and the switch to NIC 2
   Boot them and log on
