Re: scsi tape drive troubles

An update:  the problem goes away when I plug the device into a Sparc-20.
Either the kernel (or sbus) handles it differently, or there is some
contention between the drives earlier in the scsi chain (which are not
there when I attach the tape drive to the Sparc-20).
