KDE3 and CS4231, any luck?

Hi Gentle People,

Does KDE3 fix a problem with sound control on Ultra5? KDE2 works OK for me
at the moment, sound is only a minor annoyance, but  I can use it to justify
upgrading to a new version. Anyone who tried this, please advice!
