Questions about external Raid on Sun U60

Dear Listmembers,
I recently added an external Raid Array from Promise to my U 60 that
basically works. However, it always says "Target did not report SYNC" at
boot - what means to have a really slow 5MB/sec asynchronious
interconnection. The Promise device is a quite up to date SX4000 device. I
used to fiddle around a bit with external termination - in vain. It works
but it is slow.
Does anybody out there have a clue what could be the cause of this?
Many thanks for your efforts in advance,
take care

Dieter Jurzitza
