The last part, moving vmlinux to /boot is done with gzip -c --best vmlinux > vmlinuz (or vmlinuz.2.4.xx) and update silo.conf if required. While I'm thinking about it, does anyone know why when I compiled Reiserfs support into the kernel it caused a panic. It appears to be useless as a module since it complains that the kernel doesn't include Reiserfs support.
